　令和5年11月1日（水）14:20に、日本学術振興会 外国人研究者招へい事業（短期）（研究代表者：工学部　電気電子情報工学科　宮本祐介　教授）により招へいしているヨーロッパ南天天文台　科学局本部　ESO天文学者教授会代表 兼科学担当室長のPaola Andriani氏によるセミナーを下記の通り開催します。

「Astronomy is a fascinating subject and as old as human history」

◆概要
All traces of the presence of “Homo Sapiens” on the Earth are accompanied by archaeological constructions which are likely related to the position of the Sun, the Moon and visible planets at given periods of the year.
Astronomy has become a science with the first observations by Galileo and, with the development of science and technology, Astronomy has nowadays achieved stunning results, which stimulate the imagination of most people.
This lecture aims to overview the achievements made with ground-based and space instrumentation and highlight some of the most critical results in advancing humankind knowledge of its place in the Universe.
