Today's society is supported by core technologies of fields such as electricity, electronics, and communications. These fields are also required to address current day challenges such as through the development of energy technology that considers the environment, as well as the development of information processing technology to control machines and systems including robots that support the manufacturing site and people. In the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, students fully gain basic scholastic ability in the fields of electricity and electronics, and then cultivate practical capabilities needed to play active roles in a wide range of fields. Practical engineers are nurtured through the establishment of a course that meets the needs of a broad range of fields and a course that aims to further deepen expertise and enhance creativity, and by using projects that concern the fields of electricity and electronics. Department of Mechanical Engineering

Mechanical engineering is a field of study that forms the foundation of Japan's pride, "monozukuri," or making things. Technology in the field of mechanical engineering is deeply involved with the various products needed for people to lead safe and comfortable lives. This field requires people with a broad range of expert knowledge and technology for "monozukuri"; people with the ability to take the initiative in engaging and solving challenges; people with the creativity to give birth to products and technology that serve society; and people who have the sense of responsibility and ethical perspective to work in international society and local society as engineers. On the foundation of knowledge and technology of mechanical engineering, the Department of Mechanical Engineering raises practical engineers who can play active roles in a wide range of fields such as industry, transport machinery, and equipment, including welfare and healthcare equipment and robots. In addition, with mechanical engineering at the foundation, the department also nurtures students who aim to acquire national certification as auto mechanics as well as engineers who can play an active role in automobile related fields. Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering

Architecture and civil engineering are technological fields indispensable in supporting a living environment that is safe, secure, and comfortable for people. The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering has two courses specializing in architecture and civil engineering, respectively. In the architecture course, students gain expertise in design, architectural planning, structure, materials, environmental facilities, and others, and talent who can create attractive residential spaces and urban spaces as architects are nurtured. In the civil engineering course, students gain expertise in civil engineering needed to create a safe, secure, and rich urban environment and country, and to construct and maintain social infrastructure, and talent who can contribute to the building of a sustainable society in symbiosis with the natural environment are nurtured. Department of Applied Nuclear Technology

Nuclear energy is said to be "comprehensive engineering" that integrates many engineering fields including electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. Its applications spread across various fields, and are connected to robot, damping and base isolation, water treatment and other many technological innovations. In the Department of Applied Nuclear Technology, students gain high moral perspectives and expertise of nuclear technology, and talent who can contribute to the development of next generation nuclear technology are nurtured. In addition, the Department of Applied Nuclear Technology nurtures talent who can play an active role on the domestic and global stage by gaining expertise and skills on radiology, which is widely used in medicine, manufacturing, and agricultural areas, such as sterilization of medical tools, treatment of cancer, nondestructive testing of materials, and manufacture of rubber and plastic. Department of Applied Chemistry and Food Science

Concerns over global-scale environmental issues and food crisis from extreme weather make it necessary to build a society where everyone can live with a sense of security into the future. The Department of Applied Chemistry and Food Science conducts basic education on chemistry and biology, specialized education on environment and food, and cutting-edge research to contribute to a safe, secure and sustainable society. When considering the living environment in the 21st century, the role of design becomes increasingly important. Design is not just about creating beautiful products, but also conceives how life should be and expresses this in an effective manner. Through study of design such as "urban and local environment creation and the form of the community," "living spaces such as homes, facilities, and interiors," "design and branding of furniture, living utensils and other everyday products," and "magazines, advertising, logos, posters, Web, imagery, and other visual information media," the Department of Design nurtures designers and design specialists who create beautiful and pleasant living environments. Interest is heightening in sports as a way to address the issue of the graying population, become healthier, and develop the community, among others. Sports and health sciences is a discipline that perceives sports and health from a scientific viewpoint to conduct comprehensive and scholastic research and education, and it also requires total ability such as engineering knowledge and perspectives, and information processing technology.
