Exemptions of Entrance Fee and Annual Tuition Offered to Privately Financed International Students

Privately financed international students scheduled to be enrolled in FUT after passing the entrance examination will be partially exempted from entrance fee and annual tuition following a selection process. The exemption covers the difference between the matriculation fee and tuition of FUT and the matriculation fee and standard tuition of Japan's national universities. Review of scholastic performance for continuation of this tuition reduction is conducted at the end of each school year, and if the student's scholastic performance meets designated criteria, the difference between the tuition of FUT and the standard tuition of national universities is exempted for the following school year as well.(Maximum of four years)

Criteria for continuation of tuition reduction in the following school year
Both of the following criteria (1) and (2) need to be fulfilled

(1) Annual acquisition of at least 30 credits (96 credits or more required at the end of the third year)
(2) Recommendation from the faculty in charge, and confirmation of the student's desire to continue studies

For Graduate Students

Exemptions of Annual Tuition Fee Offered to Privately Financed International Students

For persons scheduled to be admitted to the graduate school under the privately financed international students admissions examination (persons holding a college student visa), the difference between the first year fees of Fukui University of Technology and the standard tuition of national university graduate schools will be exempted after a selection process.

At the end of the academic year, an evaluation of scholastic achievements and other matters will be held to consider the possibility of continuing the exemption. If the conditions are satisfied, the difference between Fukui University of Technology's fees and the tuition of national university graduate schools will be waived in the next academic year as well. If the terms for continuation of the exemption are fulfilled every year, fees paid to the university will be reduced for a maximum of two years after entering the Masters program, and a maximum of three years during the Doctoral program.

Conditions for continuation


All of the following conditions must be fulfilled. But Doctoral program scholarship students need to satisfy only (2) below.
Both of the following criteria (1) and (2) need to be fulfilled

(1) A student who has acquired 20 credits or more by the end of the first year of the Masters program.
(2) A student who is recommended by the supervisor, and whose intention to continue studying can be confirmed.

Scholarship Stipends for Privately Financed International Students
(for both Undergraduate and Graduate Students)

Privately financed international students in at least the second semester of their first year who acquired a good academic record in the previous semester, are accepted as scholarship students and receive a monthly stipend of 30,000 yen.

Scholarship for Continuing Studies at Graduate School
(Doctoral Course)

Students scheduled to be admitted to the Doctoral Course and who have aspirations to study at the Fukui University of Technology, will be exempted from all of the first year school fees after a selection process.
The fees of prospective students who have been accepted to the scholarship program will be exempted 100 percent.
Students who have not graduated from the undergraduate program or have not completed the Master's Course program at the Graduate School of Fukui University of Technology shall pay facility fees only for the first academic year (170,000 yen).
(An evaluation of scholastic achievements and other matters will be held to consider the possibility of continuing the exemption. If the student was able to receive a recommendation from the research supervisor, the exemption will be continued in the following academic year.)

* Mandatory fees for which collection was consigned to the university are not subject to exemption.
