Department of Applied Chemistry and Food Science

  • Environmental Chemistry Course
  • Biochemistry and Food Science Course

Develop creative thinking based on a wide range of knowledge and technology of applied chemistry to address important issues on our environments and foods for creation of a sustainable world.

Global environmental and food problems have grown increasingly serious until threatening the survivals of lives on earth including human beings. We think it is critical for students to have training on abilities to solve those issues so as to build and maintain the future society where everyone can enjoy peace of mind. Here, building the foundation of applied chemistry, students will be trained on skills and knowledge required for working on various issues on environmental and food crises through professional educations and cutting-edge researches.

Department of Applied Chemistry and Food Science Key Points
  • 01

Learning basic sciences including analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry and so on for tackling issues in the fields of environmental and food sciences.

  • 02

Acquiring expertise for addressing environmental and food issues through specialized subjects such as environmental measurement science, resource recycling science, food processing engineering, biotechnology and food safety science.

  • 03

Trained through the practical curriculum containing a wide variety of experimental trainings to deepen the understanding of the lectures and personality education aiming to improve science writing and presentation skills.

Contribute to global environments by exploring new possibilities of materials from the perspective of environmental purification and preservation. Environmental Chemistry Course

In addition to global creativity, knowledge of chemistry is essential for solving various problems and developing new frontiers. Our curriculum, including environmental analysis, synthetic organic chemistry, photochemistry, rainwater harvesting, and magneto-science, provides students with the opportunity to acquire systematic knowledge of chemistry.

Contribute to the global food by exploring potentials of microbes and plants or by exploring new possibilities of biomaterials from the perspective of biological resource utilization. Biochemistry and Food Science Course

Researches and investigations of frontier fields of biology will lead students to deepen their expertise on biotechnology, omics, food production/manufacturing, food safety, microbiology and so on. Students will acquire systematic knowledge and skills of a wide range of fields from life phenomena to biological engineering from our comprehensive curriculum.
