Department of Mechanical Engineering
For those who have an interest in all kinds of machines and machine systems.

The number of human activities is many and varied, including manufacturing, informatics, commerce and others. Machinery and machine systems are tied to all these areas of human activity. They are the basis of our civilization | allowing people to work safely and securely. In our mechanical engineering department, with the three pillars of machine systems, automobile systems and robotics as our core, we seek people who are willing to grapple with the main issues in these areas. On our Machine Systems course we have set out a broad curriculum, aiming to educate technologists in the use of current techniques. On our Automobile Systems course we allow students the opportunity to gain national certification as 2nd Class Automobile Mechanics, through a grounding in mechanical engineering along with studies in automobile engineering, maintenance, internal combustion and oscillator engineering. We also aim to produce technologists who will work towards the development of new kinds of environmentally friendly, safe, efficient, non-polluting, economical engines. On our robotics design course we aim to produce technologists with problem-solving skills who can work independently on planning and design using a variety of hardware and software, and who can organically combine ideas from mechanics, electrics and electronics in a mechanical engineering program based around mechatronics.
Thus, we are looking for the following kinds of people:
  1. People who have a deep understanding of, and an awareness of the issues related to, basic machine systems, electricity, electronics and computers
  2. People who are interested in, and have a love for, the art of creation
  3. People who have a deep interest in automobiles, with eagerness and curiosity

Department of Construction Engineering

Specializing in Architectural Engineering

To produce architects who can combine theory, technology and art.

Architects are involved in a wide variety of projects | from housing and public facilities, to high-rise buildings and domed constructions, as well as being involved in town planning. Specifically, architects are completed involved in all areas of the living environment of human beings. We have established 3 different courses in the field of construction engineering with a specialization in architectural engineering | all of which allow participants to develop into active architectural designers and technologists while making use of their unique individuality. On our Architectural course students can learn the functional, safety, economic aspects of the field. On our Architectural Design course students have the opportunity to design comfortable living spaces | from interiors to cityscapes. On our Traditional Wood Architecture course students can learn about the application of Japanfs unique woodcraft skills to the modern age.

  1. People who have a deep-seated interest in buildings and in the living space of human beings, and who have a desire to bring both of these to a new standard of excellence

Department of Construction Engineering

Specializing in Civil Engineering

Building up our society while being kind to the environment.

Environmental Civil Engineering involves the design of dams, tunnels, bridges, railways, underground systems, airports, ports, waterways, urban space design and more. In recent years we have begun to think more and more about the damage caused by earthquakes, tsunamis, flooding, landslides, water pollution, global warming and other such problems. We seek to develop technologies that will protect the environment while at the same time allowing people to live in safety and comfort. In our department students may choose from three courses. On the Societal Foundation course students learn the basic skills of civil engineering. On the Urban Design course students learn about regional planning and landscaping techniques. On the Environment and Disaster Prevention course students learn about disaster prevention techniques and environmental protection.

  1. People who have a deep interest in, and an awareness of, the issuesrelated to environmental civil engineering, the foundations of society, the societal environment, the natural environment and disaster prevention

Biotechnological Frontier Engineering

Problems of resources and energy, global environmental problems, medical issues, food production problems | these are some of humankindfs most serious issues. We seek to resolve these issues | bringing people comfort and safety through the use of materials science technology, while at the same time promoting the importance of industry. We offer 3 different courses at the Department of Environmental and Biotechnological Future Engineering: Environmental Technology, Materials Science and Biotechnology. Each of these courses has at its core the study of physics, chemistry and biology, along with environmental science, materials science and biotechnology. Through these courses we hope to nurture technologists and researchers with good problem-solving skills and a high knowledge base.

  1. People who like scientific experiments
  2. People who have an interest in, and are willing to actively take on the study of the environment, biotechnology and materials science
  3. Bright people with individuality and character who have a deep curiosity about the world around them

Department of Management Information Science

The gubiquitous environmenth, where information can be accessed through computer networks by anybody, anytime, anyplace is almost upon us. At the Department of Information Management Science we offer three comprehensive courses to meet the needs of this age. On our Media Design course, students have the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills associated with the creating of multimedia content. On our Information Systems course, students learn specialist information management and information communication skills. On our Management Systems course students study the technical aspects of the control and implementation of rational business management. All our students will gain the necessary knowledge and expertise in the information technology and management fields to allow them to excel in their professional lives.
We seek the following kinds of people:
  1. People who have an interest in computer graphics animation, media content, intellectual property and information security, and who have the desire to acquire knowledge and skills related to future design
  2. People who have an interest in computers | programming, networks, information systems | and who are interested in acquiring the skills to become systems engineers

At the Department of Space Communication Engineering we donft just deal with the development of cutting edge technology, we also strive to nurture the talent which plays such a vital role in our daily lives. We hope to turn out, not just ordinary technologists, but skilled professional technicians and researchers for the space industry or the radio-communications field.
People who have as their goal a desire
to study any of the following;

Department of Applied Nuclear Technology

Nuclear power | used as a means to produce electricity it plays a fundamental role in our society. Japanfs relationship with nuclear power stretches back over 40 years. Now more than ever we need technicians trained in the use of nuclear power and in fact this institution is the only such one in the country to offer the particular course of study that we have here. Here at this university we seek to produce technologists who will go on to be experts in nuclear power and the correct and safe use of radioactive substances.
We are looking for the following kinds
